Welcome to the AAKF!

Sensei NishiyamaThe American Amateur Karate Federation (AAKF) is a nationwide public benefit, tax exempt corporation established under the U.S. Act of 1979 public law regarding sports governing bodies. Master Hidetaka Nishiyama was its first President.

The main purpose of the AAKF is to benefit the physical and mental health of the people of the United States through the development of Traditional Karate.

For this purpose, it continually develops the technical skill level of coaches, officials, and judges. In addition, it is responsible for setting guidelines, and for sanctioning local, regional, and national Traditional Karate events.

On an international basis, AAKF is the sole representative of traditional karate in the US. The AAKF promotes international communication through Traditional Karate and regularly sends a US team to participate in international events.
